Japan yet to decide on easing entry ban

TOKYO: Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi has denied reports that Japan government had decided to ease an entry ban that was in force to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The Yomiuri daily had last week reported that Japan may restart business trips to and from New Zealand, Australia, Thailand and Vietnam in the next few months.

Foreign Minister Motegi said Japan is examining ways to relax entry bans, taking into consideration some other factors comprehensively, and would ease restrictions in stages.
