Valley’s temperature dips to 4 degrees Celsius

KATHMANDU: Temperature in the Kathmandu Valley plummeted to 4 degrees Celsius today and this is the lowest temperature that the Valley experienced so far this year, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

On Sunday, the Valley’s minimum temperature was measured at 4.5 degrees Celsius. Meteorologist Nirajan Sapkota said temperature is falling across the country as winter has already set in.

If it is mostly cloudy, the maximum temperature will rise as the cloud functions as a blanket, if no cloud or clear weather, the minimum temperature will fall and we experience cold.

Meteorologists predict that this winter minimum temperature will plummet to zero degrees Celsius. They said there will be clear weather for the next couple of days. Despite sunshine at day time, it will be chilly in the morning and evening. Presently, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly region of the country.

There will be partial cloudy in the hilly parts of Province 1 this afternoon and generally fair in the rest of the country.
