Shuklaphanta-5 sealed for a week



KANCHANPUR: Ward-5 in Shuklaphanta Municipality of Kanchanpur has been sealed for one week following the increase in the number of COVID-19 patients.

All government and non-government organizations, schools, shops and industries in the ward have been closed from today for a week.

Authorities have banned the movement of people in the ward except for emergencies.

Ward Chairman Kamal Giri said outsiders will be allowed to enter the ward by following health standards.

The movement has been tightened in areas including Khajuwa, Garjamuni, Vaishakha and East-West Highway in the ward.

An elderly man from the same ward died of corona infection last month. As many as 10 coronavirus infected are currently in home isolation.

According to Parmananda Bhatta, chief of the health department of the municipality, at least 134 people are infected with coronavirus in the municipality.
