Prachanda, Oli accelerate discussion on NCP’s future course of action

KATHMANDU: Two days after narrowing down the differences, top brass of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) – Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and Prime Minister KP Oli – has accelerated consultations on various issues, including the proposal endorsed by Friday’s Standing Committee meeting.

Prachanda and PM Oli held meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar today, Baluwatar sources said.

According to the sources, the meeting basically focused on implementing the outcome of the Standing Committee meeting held on Friday.

It may be noted that Friday’s meeting settled the intra-party disputes pestering the party for quite a while.

The disputes fizzled out after the meeting passed the report of the six-member dispute resolution task force with some amendment.

The task force comprises standing committee members Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey, Shankar Pokharel, Janardan Sharma and Pampha Bhusal.

The dispute resolution task force was formed by the two party chairs Oli and Prachanda.

With the passage of the task force report, the remaining tasks of party unification will also intensify.

Likewise, the leaders are also likely to come to a conclusion on the MCC Compact, which the SC meeting had decided to approve it with amendments on some of its provisions.
