309 kg marijuana seized from truck in Sarlahi



SARLAHI: Sarlahi Police have seized 309 kg of marijuana from a truck.

The cannabis was found loaded in a 10-wheeler truck, Na 4 Kha 7748, at Domova Tole in Parsa Rural Municipality-5 on Saturday night, said Information Officer at the District Police Office, Sarlahi Inspector Raju Prasad Kurmi.

A team led by District Police Chief Santosh Singh Rathore was deployed to check the marijuana smuggling from Nepal to India through rural areas in the eastern part of Sarlahi.

Police Inspector Kurmi said that the driver of the truck fled after seeing the police team.

Police said that they were searching for the truck driver and the people behind the smuggling.
