Jhalanath Foundation spends money for raising snakes on vehicles and furniture



KATHMANDU: It has been revealed that the money provided by the Lalbandi Municipality to the Antivenom Production and Research Center Nepal (Jhalanath Foundation) for raising snakes was spent on vehicles, cameras and other items.

Former Secretary Bhim Upadhyaya has made public the details of the expenditure by the center on Facebook.

According to the details he shared on social media, the foundation has spent the following:

1) Purchase of vehicle: Rs 49,44,000

2) Vehicle maintenance: Rs 341,000

3) Fuel: Rs 10,83,000

4) Furniture: Rs 18,80,000

5) AC: Rs 360,000

6) Camera: Rs 3,12,000

7) Airfare and allowance Rs: 400,000

He also wrote, “Apart from this, Rs 700 million from the federal government and additional money from the state government will be spent on what? Details are yet to come.”
