Nepal tests 2,800 samples for coronavirus in last 24 hours

Two more discharged after treatment



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has said that the health condition of all the 88 COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at different hospitals across Nepal is normal.

Out of the total undergoing treatment, 28 are being treated in Birgunj, 19 in Biratnagar, 16 in Rupandehi, 24 in Nepalgunj and 1 in Bharatpur, according to the Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Bikash Devkota.

Total COVID1-19 cases in Nepal have reached 121 including 11 who were confirmed to be infected on Monday.

Of them, 89 are men and 32 are women. Of those infected, 33 have recovered and returned home, while 88 are being treated in isolation at various hospitals. Two have returned home on Monday.

As per the provincial details, 35 cases have been reported in Province 1, 32 in Province 2, seven in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, 40 in Province 5 and five in Far-Western province.

According to Spokesperson Dr. Devkota, 17,809 samples have been tested by PCR and 58,546 using the RDT method so far.

Spokesperson Dr. Devkota informed that 2,799 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours. Similarly, 12,701 people are in quarantine across the country.
