India raises concern over Chinese army deployment in Ladakh

NEW DELHI: India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has raised concerns on the Chinese military deployment at the Ladakh border during his bilateral talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of a summit in Russia.

He conveyed the concerns during the talks between S Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Moscow, Indian media reports have said.

Indian Army sources said that India is also matching the deployment of 50,000-strong Chinese troop in the Ladakh border.

Jaishankar also raised the issue of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army massing troops in eastern Ladakh as he reached a five point agreement with the Chinese counterpart that will guide India and China in resolving the border standoff in eastern Ladakh.

Jaishankar and Wang were in Moscow to attend a meeting of foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
