KATHMANDU: As many as 12 central committee members of Nepali Congress (NC), including Gagan Thapa, have demanded party President Sher Bahadur Deuba to withdraw his decisions of appointing leaders and members in the party departments.

It may be noted that party President Deuba had continued to appoint party leaders in various party departments in what has been billed as a “move to influence” the upcoming General Convention scheduled for early next year.

Twelve central working members of the party, including Thapa, Dhan Raj Gurung, Chandra Bhandari, Guru Raj Ghimire, Kamala Panta, Ratna Sherchan, Badri Pandey, Pradeep Paudel, Sarita Prasai, Jeevan Pariyar, Kiran Yadav and Ram Krishna Yadav have urged Deuba that he withdrew the recent appointments.

According to them, these appointments will raise an issue of impartiality in the upcoming convention.
