Encroachment of Nepali land ‘deplorable’: NCP senior leader Nepal

KATHMANDU: Senior leader of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Madhav Kumar Nepal has dubbed the construction of the Link Road in Nepal’s Lipu Lekh was deplorable.

Issuing a statement on Sunday, senior leader Nepal came down heavily on India for violating the previous agreements with Nepal.

“It’s unfortunate that India inaugurated the road linking Tibet’s Mansarovar at a time when the country is combating the coronavirus pandemic,” he said in a statement adding, “This has undermined Nepal’s sovereignty.”

He has also urged India to not construct any infrastructure in Nepal’s land demanding the Government of Nepal to issue a new map encompassing the area.
