Govt picks 11 as NSC board members



KATHMANDU: The government has appointed 11 board members to the National Sports Council (NSC).

A cabinet meeting decided to appoint footballer from Province 1 Hari Khadka under Kash-Arya category, Man Dev Hajara from Madhesi Dalit category, Purendra Lakhe from Pradesh 3 under the indigenous nationalities category, Rajesh Gurung from Gandaki Pradesh as the board members.

Similarly, those appointed are Mohammad Sagir Sheikh from Pradesh 2 from Muslim community, Nanda Basyal from women category from Karnali Pradesh, Ekendra Kunwar from Sudur Pashchim Pradesh under backward region category, Chandra Badana Rai from Province 1, and Sumitra Chaudhary from Pradesh 5 under Tharu women category.

Similarly, Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Bishwokarma appointed Renuka Shrestha and Subarna Shrestha as the chairpersons of the Council on the recommendation of Sports Association Nepal.
