Ayurveda to be developed through Yogmaya University



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has said that the Ayurveda has an extraordinary role in the campaign of building a healthy Nepal.

In a meeting with Ayurveda experts at his official residence in Baluwatar this evening, he said that Ayurveda also has an important role in the prevention, treatment and control of COVID-19, which calls for its prioritization.

He pointed out the need of adding modern technology, research and industrialization in Ayurveda.

The Yogmaya University has been established to promote the indigenous treatment method of the country, while developing Ayurved and Yoga together.

The Prime Minister also called for increasing the use of Ayurveda in controlling Corona Virus, and publicizing through media about its utility in medical treatment and domestic use.

On the occasion, Director General of the Department of Ayurveda Basudev Upadhyaya, Dr Rishi Ram Koirala, Dr Pradip KC, among others thanked the Prime Minister for giving importance to the Ayurveda sector, and holding such a consultation for the first time ever.

Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ also attended the discussion.
