Twelve people missing in landslide in Jajarkot



JAJARKOT: Twelve people have gone missing after landslide swept away a house at Sarki village of Barekot rural municipality-4 in the district.

They are Gopal Sarki, 52, his wife Pushpa, 50; daughter Laxmi, 13, and son Arjun, 11; Kalu Sarki, his 14-year-old daughter– Tirkha, and 11-year-old daughter Kamala, and six-year-old son Subas; Dilli Sarki, 20, of Kushe rural municipality-9; and 14-year-old Gauri Sarki, 16-year-old Kabita Sarki and Birendra Sarki, 18, said Secretary of Barekot-4, Dambar Pun.

Deputy Superintendent of Police of Jajarkot, Kishor Shrestha, said that security personnel have been mobilised at the incident site for search and rescue.

Similarly, landslide has buried a paddy farm at Kharka Telchour of ward no 5, said chief administrative office of Barekot rural municipality, Govinda Singh.
