NC obstructs HoR today as well

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party obstructed today’s meeting of the House of Representatives as well, saying the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) showed discriminatory behavior in Lalita Niwas Land Grab scandal.

The anti-graft constitutional body CIAA on Wednesday filed a corruption case at the Special Court against 175 people including former Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy-leader of the NC Parliamentary Party, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, indicting them in the Lalita Niwas land scandal.

Today’s meeting was postponed without entering the agenda due to the obstruction of the lawmakers of the main opposition party.

All the lawmakers of the NC stood from their seats as a protest.

The party had obstructed the House proceedings on Thursday and Friday.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota adjourned the meeting for Tuesday following the obstruction.
