Byas municipality cuts down tour and dearness allowance



TANAHU: The Byas municipality of Tanahu has decided to decrease the tour and dearness allowance for the people’s representatives. It has also reduced the budget for employees’ salaries.

The reduction was made in the amended budget tabled for the current fiscal year 2076/77. Deputy Mayor Mira Joshi presented a budget of Rs. 1.44 billion in the 32nd municipal assembly meet that began on Friday. The 31st assembly had passed a budget of Rs. 1.23 billion for the current fiscal year.

As per the amended budget estimates, the municipality has decreased the daily tour allowance for people’s representatives by four hundred thousand and dearness allowance for employees by three hundred thousand.

Likewise, the budget for employees’ salary has been decreased by 240,000 and daily allowance for employees by Rs. 150,000, according to Chief Administrative Office Dinesh Raj Pant.
