Lady Gaga gives ‘million reasons’ to love her

NEW YORK: American singer Lady Gaga has delivered an inspiring speech during YouTube’s ‘Dear Class of 2020’ virtual ceremony.

Gaga, 34, said she recorded a different commencement speech to help students celebrate their accomplishment – graduation.

She began her speech thus: “My speech at the time reflected … the COVID-19 global pandemic that has devastated the world this year and how important it is to be a force of kindness in this world as you take the next step forward in your promising lives.”

The singer pointed out that the speech that she gave was recorded before the protests occurred in response  to the killing of George Floyd.

With the “Rain On Me”, Gaga’s inspiring commencement speech – it is surely clear that she brought those themes to the center stage.

The subsequent movement protesting police brutality and racism in the US, she said, while her original speech may not be directly relevant to what the US needs most right now.

This change, she claimed, will be slow. “We will have to be patient,” she said with the hope that change will happen and it will be for the better.
