Nirala appointed Judicial Council member

KATHMANDU: Laxmi Bahadur ‘Nirala’ Khadka has been appointed member of the Judicial Council (JC) on Tuesday.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Khadka to the post on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Oli, the President’s Office said in a statement.

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee Sunday had endorsed Khadka’s nomination to the post of JC member.

Khadka’s endorsement was made as the committee did not receive any complaints against his candidacy.

Khadka was recommended to the post after JC member Padam Prasad Baidik resigned on December 5.
