DOHA: Shiva Bachchan Sah Rauniyar followed the footsteps of his village friends and left for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to cash his dream for prosperity.

Shiva reached the UAE through the Kathmandu-based Spring Nepal Human Resources Manpower Company paying Rs 200 thousand to the recruitment company, which had promised him of a job of an Office Boy and do plasterwork.

Assured at the promise, he went to the Crystal for Ceramic Company in the UAE.

Shiva did not get the job as promised by the manpower company of Nepal. He was assigned the task of tile and marble and in two hours of his appointment, he was sacked from the job blaming him for lack of enough skill.

Jobless, he wandered here and there in search of a job. Hari Bhakta Bista, a Nepali agent in the UAE, got a job for him and tried his placement. However, the company refused to recruit Shiva saying he had no visa.

He is in the UAE for seven months now without any job or money desperately waiting for his return to Nepal.

Nepali Embassy in the UAE tried to facilitate his journey back home and sent him to the airport twice in the embassy’s vehicle. Yet he was refused permission to board the plane.

The company in the UAE even sued him claiming 12,000 Diram as fine. Unfortunately, he cannot leave the UAE unless he clears the due amount.

The Non-Resident Nepali Association had arranged for his lodging and food after being denied to board the aircraft.

With NRNA’s facilitation, Bista made the manpower company pay 3,500 Diram to the company. Shiva claims that the company won’t ease his journey home unless it gets 8,500 Diram from him.

“When I make a phone call to the embassy, they disconnect the phone after hearing my name,” Shiva told Khabarhub. “I approached several organizations but in vain.”

He is not in the NRNA UAE’s protection. According to NRNA UAE’s Vice President Pasang Sherpa, the organization had given him the most essential goods, yet Shiva has left the place on his own.

Shiva’s story representatives several Nepali youths passing their hard time in the adverse climate in the Gulf countries.
