Lalipur CDO suggests prohibitory orders be extended until Dashain in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU: Narayan Prasad Bhatta, Chief District Officer of Lalitpur district has said prohibition order should be extended till Dashain in the Kathmandu Valley.

In a meeting of the sub-committee under the Education Committee of the House of Representatives on Sunday, Bhatta said that the prohibition orders should be kept until Dashain with some relaxation and facilities.

He said that the infection from COVID-19 did not spread much due to the prohibition imposed during the rainy season. “If the order had not been issued, the increase would have been widespread,” he said.

In Lalitpur, there is no problem of isolation and quarantine centers for coronavirus infected persons, said Bhatta.

He speculated that there could be problems in managing the bodies of those who died from the coronavirus infection.

The CDOs of Kathmandu Valley had issued prohibitory orders from August 20. The order has been relaxed from September 2 will end on September 9.
