Nepal begins rescuing Nepalis from abroad; 26 from Myanmar land at TIA



KATHMANDU: The government of Nepal has begun rescuing Nepali nations stranded in various countries from today.

On Friday morning, as many as 26 Nepali from Myanmar landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu.

According to Devendra KC, General Manager at the TIA, 26 Nepalis stranded in Myanmar have landed in Kathmandu on Friday through a Myanmar Military Airlines.

The Myanmar government had earlier agreed to rescue the Nepalis citizens stranded in Myanmar at the request of Nepal government.

Likewise, the first flight of Air Arabia is bringing Nepali nationals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“The flight from UAE carrying Nepali nationals will land at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) this afternoon around 5 pm,” Raj Kumar Chhetri, Spokesperson at the Civil Aviation Authority said.

However, General Manager at the TIA, Devendra KC did not confirm the time of arrival from UAE. “The flight will arrive. However, the time has not been fixed yet,” he said.

A total of 157 Nepali nationals are coming back from UAE.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation had on Thursday permitted the UAE government to airlift stranded Nepali people on its own expenses through the flights of Air Arabia.
