KATHMANDU: A 48-year-old American citizen died while undergoing treatment after he suddenly collapsed while walking in Pokhara Metropolitan City-18, Kaski, on Monday morning.
The deceased, identified as Matthew Alex Jones, was rescued with the help of locals after he fell unconscious in the Sedhi area and was taken to Metrocity Hospital for treatment.
Doctors declared him dead shortly after he was brought to the hospital.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Kumar Paswan of the District Police Office, Kaski, the body has been sent to Pokhara Health Science Academy for postmortem examination.
Police said the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the postmortem report.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Jones had been staying at the residence of Damodar Pahari in Sedhi for the past one month, according to police.
