Trader nabbed for black marketeering of petroleum products



SINDHUPALCHOWK: Police have arrested a trader on the charge of black marketeering of petroleum products at the time when the country is in lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19.

District Police Office arrested Mahesh Kumar Chaudhary, 36, of Kapilvastu district and working at a petrol pump at Chautara-7.

According to DSP Madhav Prasad Kafle, Chaudhary has been charged as per the black marketeering act for selling petrol at Rs 110 per liter against a price of Rs 96 per liter fixed by Nepal Oil Corporation.

Meanwhile, police arrested three jeep drivers on the charge of carrying passengers breaching the nationwide lockdown.
