NC regrets over Thursday’s Pulchowk clash



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party has expressed regrets over the incident of violent clash that took place at Pulchowk on Thursday between the locals and the police on the issue of pulling the chariot of the Rato Machchhindranath.

Party’s Chief Whip, Bal Krishna Khand, in a press statement said that the sad incident happened due to the lack of the required coordination among all the sides concerned including the administration, the festival organizers and the local levels.

Khand said there should have been proper coordination in matter of conducting important traditional festival like the Rato Machchhindranath jatra.

The party has also urged all concerned to seek an outlet through talks and dialogue for continuing the Rato Machchhindranath chariot procession ritual by adopting the highest level of precaution and maintaining physical distance in view of the risk of coronavirus.
