KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has expressed displeasure over his party fellows for not cooperating with the government at this time of crisis.
“At a time when the country is reeling under coronavirus pandemic, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders are hell-bent on toppling the government,” PM Oli expressed the displeasure during a discussion ways out to stem the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the country.
“While the government has appealed one and all to refrain from gatherings of more than 25 people, some central members of the party have initiated a signature campaign demanding a meeting of the 450-strong central committee meeting,” PM Oli said during the discussion adding that it was not possible to call the meeting in the current situation.
It should be noted that as many as 125 NCP central members had initiated a signature campaign in a bid to pressurize the party leadership to convene the central committee meeting.
PM Oli also urged one and all to comprehend the situation rather than criticizing the government.
“I can see some sections of the society have been making irresponsible remarks against the government,” he told a meeting attended by experts, ministers and leaders of the opposition parties, including Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party Mahanta Thakur at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar Tuesday.
PM Oli had invited them to discuss ways out to control the spread of coronavirus in the country.
