NRNA Japan convenes regional assembly



TOKYO: The Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) Japan has concluded its regional convention in Nagoya city in spite of the COVID-19 risk.

Some 70 persons, including the representatives of nine regional committees and of political parties throughout Japan, attended the regional assembly.

The date fixed for the regional meet before this had been put off due to the threat of coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown imposed across the country.

NRNA Japan president Devilal Bhandari said the regional assembly was held on August 2 despite some difficulties as the coronavirus pandemic had come under control to some extent.

Speaking on the occasion on behalf the representatives of political parties, Baburam Bhandari reiterated on the need of providing support to all the Nepali-speaking communities as the coronavirus pandemic continued to spread.

NRNA ICC Treasurer Mahesh Shrestha, NRNA Asia Pacific coordinator Govinda Shrestha and convention coordinator and NRNA Japan regional vice-president Deepak KC spoke on various facets of the regional convention. NRNA Japan president Devilal Bhandari presided over the program.

There are nine regional committees and one ad-hoc committee under NRNA Japan.
