Spark Hydroelectric Company to build Tamor-Mewa hydro project



KATHMANDU: Spark Hydroelectric Company Ltd has applied for a production license of Tamor-Mewa Hydro electricity mega project at the Development of Electricity Department.

The hydro project with the capacity of 128 megawatt will be completed in the next five years.

The Mewakhola which flows in between Mikwakhola rural municipality and Merinden rural municipality mixes with the Tamor river in Talplejung district.

The Tamor-Mewa hydro project will be built by harnessing this water. Preparations are underway to grant production license to the company, according to the Department.

The Spark Hydro Electric Company has already submitted its Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the Department.
