KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, has said that border dispute between Nepal and India would be resolved through the diplomatic channel.

Minister Gyawali said so while responding to the queries raised on resolution proposal in today’s meeting of the National Assembly.

A resolution proposal regarding the border dispute of Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura of Darchula district under Sudur Paschim state was registered.

Lawmaker Khimlal Bhattarai proposed and lawmaker Sarita Prasai seconded the motion.

Similarly, the Foreign Minister informed the meeting that the telephone conversation between PM KP Oli and Indian PM Narendra Modi was focused on the issue of further strengthening relations between the two countries.

He said, “Prime Minister KP Oli had presented a proposal on the issue of the territory of Kalapani in the House of Representatives in 2055 BS. National consensus could not be forged then regarding the issue of sending the Indian army back from Kalapani at that time.”

The resolution proposal was passed by the majority. NA Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina directed the government to implement the resolution proposal.
