Sub Inspector, constable dragged to court for graft



KATHMANDU: Sub Inspector of Police Rajesh Kumar Singh and Police Constable Manoj Kumar Yadav deployed at Police Post, Tribhuvannagar in Sarlahi have been arrested for bribery.

According to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), they were arrested with Rs 50,000 kickback.

CIAA Spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Koirala said that they had demanded the bribe from a service seeker assuring him/her to facilitate the import of goods from India.

The duo also threatened the service seeker of accusing him/her in a false drugs case and also thrashed him/her.

A case was filed against them at Special Court on Thursday demanding action as per the Anti-corruption Act, 2059.
