NTB CEO Regmi bats for quick COVID-19 tests for tourists



KATHMANDU: Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, Chief Executive Officer at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has said that Nepal’s tourism business should be operated with caution adopting safety measures.

Regmi opined that an environment should be created to test the coronavirus at a high-speed keeping in mind that no tourist will come to stay in the quarantine for 14 days.

He said that arrangements should be made to test tourists for the pandemic virus quickly and keep them in the holding center for three days only.

“Tourists should be allowed moving to their desired destinations if they have no symptoms”, he pointed.

Speaking at the inauguration program of Chinese Tour Operators Alliance Nepal, Regmi questioned how will tourists come to visit when they have to stay in quarantine for 14 days and again stay in quarantine after returning.

The Chinese Tour Operators Alliance of Nepal has been announced on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China.

The Alliance has been announced with the aim of making the services being provided to Chinese tourists coming to Nepal effective.

The 25-member alliance aims to move forward by correcting the shortcomings of Chinese business operations before.
