Govt sends new proposal to India for talks on border dispute

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali has said the government has sent a new proposal to India regarding a meeting between foreign secretaries of two countries to discuss the border disputes.

Minister Gyawali said India is yet to respond to Nepal’s proposal.

According to him, the Government of Nepal has in the proposal mentioned a date to hold the meeting.

Nepal had on November 22 in a letter to India objected to the new political map published by the Indian government in November claiming Kalapani, Lilulekh, and Limpiyadhura as its parts.

India has said it is ready to sit for talks on the issue.

Nepal has been reiterating that the border disputes would be resolved through diplomatic talks.
