Flights for Nepali migrant workers halted for a week

KATHMANDU: The foreign-bound flights meant for Nepali migrant workers have been halted for a week starting today due to protest of the Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies.

The Association had decided to halt in a gathering on May 17.

Putting forth a six-point demand, the Association warned that it would halt the flights yet again for the Nepali migrant workers starting May 31 until June 6,  if the demands were not met.

According to statistics maintained by the government, around 700 Nepali migrant workers leave for labor destination countries on a daily basis.

Ram Prasad Bhantana, first vice person 0f the Association, dispatched a circular not to book tickets for foreign-bound Nepali workers from today.
