Firing goes in a three-story house in Kalanki

KATHMANDU: A firing went up in a three-story house belonging to Bishnu Prasad Sharma near Kalankimai Temple in Kalanki,Kathmandu on Monday night.

An unidentified person fired a shot at the room where Sharma’s 20-year-old daughter was sleeping last night. The windowpane  of the room has been damaged. Police have recovered a 2.2 mm bullet from the incident site, said SSP Uttam Raj Subedi of Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu.

The family members had informed the nearby police station immediately after the gunshot.

“It has not been confirmed yet who fired the shot. We are seriously investigating the case,” said Subedi. “We are also looking into the persons holding licenses to keep guns in the area.”

Sharma is a hydro engineer by profession.
