Mayor donates one year’s salary, allowances to poor people



GORKHA: Deepak Babu Kandel, Mayor of Palungtar Municipality of Gorkha district, has donated his one year’s salary and allowances as per his commitment. He has started providing health insurance to helpless and poor families from his salary.

Mayor Kandel has covered the expenses for health insurance of Krishna Bhadaur Gharti of Palungtar Municipatiy-4 .

Kandel said that he launched the campaign after realizing the problems faced by the people for their treatment due to lack of money when he was the Chairperson of Aappipal Hospital, Palungtar. The amount from his one year’s salary and allowances would be enough to include at least five poor families of each ward for health insurance scheme.
