KATHMANDU: Females students at schools and colleges have to face difficulties during menstruation. Some of them quit their study due to the same reason while some are forced to stay at home for 4-5 days, said Ashmita Adhikari, a student of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Campus.
She said, “Whether it is a school or college if menstruation occurs, female students have to leave class. Girl students quit classes in the middle due to unavailability of sanitary pads,” a report in Kantipur daily said.
In view of the girl students’ problem, Adikavi Bhanubhankta Campus based in Vyas Municipality-1, Tahanu has stalled a vending machine on its premises. A sanitary pad can be obtained by inserting a two-rupee coin into the slot of the vending machine.
With the installation of the vending machine, the number of female students has increased. Of he total 2, 600 students, 1,600 students are females.
