Wild tusker claims forest guard in Jhapa

JHAPA: A wild elephant killed a sentinel of Pathibhara community forest on Thursday night in the district.

The deceased has been identified as 62-year-old Kaiyaram Chhetri of Kachankabal Rural Municipalitty-7.

Chhetri was brutally attacked while he was closing the door of electric fence put up to restrict wild elephants at 7 pm, said Bishnu Lal Ghimire, chief of Division Forest Office.

His body has been taken to Mechi Zonal Hospital for postmortem.
