Govt to make Rara a major tourist destination



KATHMANDU: Government has allocated Rs 2.68 billion for the tourism sector.
Unveiling the budget 2019-20, finance minister Yubaraj Khatiwada informed that Rara will be highlighted as a major tourist destination. Similarly, government has planned to construct a Cable Car in the hilly regions.

Likewise, the government has planned to construct the roads, International Convention Hall and other infrastructure in the tourist destination-places for the Nepal Tourism Year 2020.
Minister Khatiwada also informed that the government will construct Green Highway from Darjula to Taplejung.

Furthermore, Khatiwada informed that the government has allocated Rs 15.85 billion for the development of the aviation sector.

The Tribhuvan International Airport will be operated 24 hours making a boutique airport, he unveiled in the budget.
Government has allocated Rs 3.34 billion for the construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport while 8 billion for Pokhara Airport.

The budget mentions that preparatory works for construction of Nijgadh International Airport will be commenced.

Likewise, internal airports in Biratnagar, Janakpur, Simara, Nepalgunj, Dang and Dhangadi will be upgraded.

A feasibility study will be carried out for the construction of a new airport in Surkhet, the new budget has announced.
