NEW DELHI: The fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019 is underway in nine states of India for 72 parliamentary seats since early morning.
Indians nationals are casting their votes in 17 constituencies of Maharashtra, 13 constituencies each in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, in eight constituencies in West Bengal, six constituencies each in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, five in Bihar and three in Jharkhanda. The elections is underway in Anantnag of Jammu and Kashmir, too.
This elections holds significance for Bharatiya Janata Party and its alliance. In the general elections held in 2014, BJP had won 56 seats out of 72. Congress had won 16 seats.
Former ministers Salman Khurshid, Sriprakash Jaiswal, Minister from UP Satyadeva among others are in a fray for elections.
