12-year-old girl suffers syringe attack in Kirtipur

KATHMANDU: A minor girl has come under syringe attack in Kirtipur. A 12-year-old girl was attacked with a syringe by an unidentified person when she was playing  near her house.

Her parents have rushed her to Shukraraaj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku after she complained of the attack. The victim is undergoing treatment at the hospital, said Dr Sher Bahadur Pun of the hospital.

With this incident, the number of syringe attack victims has reached  11.   On Thursday evening, a girl was hospitalized after she came under a syringe attack.

Police have arrested a man for his alleged involvement in syringe attack. Police arrested 30-year-old Santosh Karki from Chabahil on Thursday night.

Police said they have launched a manhunt to nab the the perpetrator with the help of CCTV.
