TANAHUN: The Tanahun District Court has ordered Bandipur rural municipality to stop the  road expansion from Piple to Bandipur.

The court issued the interim order after  hearing on a writ petition registered by Santa Kumar Shrestha, a local of Bandipur rural municipality-2. He had named Bandipur rural municipality, Bandipur chair, ward-2 office and ward chairperson as defendant.

A single bench of district judge Deepak Dhakal issued interim order to stop the road widening drive for some while.
The district court in its decision has noted that widening of road by encroaching the private land of applicants of Bandipur-2 without their formal consent would undermine the citizens’ right to property.
