Chinese President Xi’s visit confirmed: Minister Baskota



KATHMANDU: Spokesperson of the government Gokul Baskota has said Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Nepal was confirmed. However, date would be fixed later.

Spokesperson Baskota, who is also the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, said the government was awaiting much the visit of the Chinese President and preparing for making his visit successful.

Making public the decisions of the recent Cabinet meetings on Thursday, he said, “We attach high importance and respect to such visit.”

He expressed his confidence that Xi’s visit would take the bilateral relations to a new height and not only the government, but also the media and citizen would play positive role in it.

According to the Spokesperson, Nepal and China have trouble-free relations. Chinese President’s visit, being held at a time when it has been 23 years China did not have a high-level visit to Nepal, was given significant importance.
