FNJ to monitor enforcement of minimum wage to journalists



KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has decided to monitor whether the media houses have provided the minimum wage to the journalists and abided by the Working Journalists Act.

The FNJ teams led by FNJ Vice-Chairman Bipul Pokharel and General Secretary Ramesh Bista will visit the media houses from Friday.

General Secretary Bista informed that the team would visit all radio, television, print and online media offices to know about the implementation status of the Act, which mentions the salary and other incentives to be provided to the journalists by the media houses.

The visit, as he argued, would help garner information about the problems facing working journalists and facilitate to solve the problems.
