Dawa Futi Sherpa appointed Nepali Ambassador to Spain

KATHMANDU: Dawa Futi Sherpa has been appointed Nepali Ambassador to Spain.

The Office of President in a statement on Thursday said that President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Sherpa to the post in line to the Article 282 of the constitution.

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) on June 9 had approved the names of four Nepali ambassadors recommended by the government including Sherpa.

Sherpa is the daughter of late Pasang Lhamu Sherpa—the first woman climber from Nepal to ascent Mount Everest.
