KCC exhibit 2019 officially starts, continues till tomorrow

KATHMANDU: With over 25 innovative projects (from ICT, Electronics and Civil Engineering), 2 game stalls and4 food stalls, the KCC exhibit2019has officially started today with the theme Ingenious thoughts, Sustainable solutions.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Youth and Sports, Jagat Bahadur Sunar (Bishwakarma).

Speaking at the inauguration program for the KCC exhibit2019this morning, Minister Sunar said that Kantipur City College (KCC) has contributed to the youth sector in connecting them with science and technology.

In addressing the national need for good governance, development and progress, he noted that the youth has a major role to play. He stressed on the need to connect youth energy to entrepreneurship and production and realized its immediacy in the opportunity provided by the nation’s shift to the Federal Republic.

Professor Rama Krishna Regmee stated the exhibition as a micro-attempt in the nation’s leap towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He stressed on the role of youths towards finding sustainable solutions to nation’s problems. This, he pointed, can be achieved by ICT empowerment.

Director-General of Department of IT (DoIT), Laxmi Prasad Yadav, stressed on using IT not just for ease but also for sustainability.

Former Minister Ganesh Shah stressed on the need of innovation to address the SDGs.

Chairman of Nepal Engineering Council, Er Dilli Raman Niraula, stressed on the need of quality and productive education in Nepal, so as to control the outflow of young human resources abroad.

Chairperson of KCC and also the chair of the program, Suman Katawal, revisited the exhibition since 2001. Principal, Raju Kattel, welcomed the participants and Event Coordinator, Kushal Niraula, introduced the program as the merge of entertainment and knowledge.

KCC exhibit2019is organized by the Center for Software Research and Development (CSDR) at Kantipur City College (KCC), a pioneering college in information technology affiliated to Purbanchal University (PU) since 2000.

The main sponsor and partners for the event include Machhapuchhre Bank (banking partner), Subisu (internet partner), Nepal Telecom (telecom partner), eSewa (e-payment partner), Sagarmatha Insurance (insurance partner), CocaCola (beverage partner), Motoinc Pvt. Ltd., EB Pearls, Employee Provident Fund, Neosphere, Nepal Telecom Authority (NTA), Department of Information Technology (DoIT), National Information Technology Center (NITC), CAN Federation, among others.

The program continues till tomorrow, Saturday. Saturday features a conference on ‘Technology for Sustainability’ (T4S) and also musical performances by Pramod Kharel, dance by Binu Shakya and folk singer Nisha GM, including college students. The event runs from 8:00 am till 5 p.m.

A total of 25 thousand visitors are expected in these two days.
