HoR to hold ministry-wise budget discussions on June 15 and 16



KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled to hold discussions on the ministry-wise appropriation heads under the Appropriation Bill, 2083 BS, on June 15 and 16.

The Federal Parliament Secretariat has stated that the concerned ministers will respond to questions raised during the discussions on June 17 and 18.

On June 15, discussions will be held on the allocation headings of the Ministry of Youth, Labour and Employment; Industry, Commerce and Supply; Agriculture, Forestry and Environment; Information and Communication; Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; Education and Sports; Health and Food Hygiene; Land Management; Cooperatives; Federal Affairs and General Administration; and the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security.

On June 16, discussions will be held on the allocation headings of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation; Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Infrastructure Development; Home; Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; Foreign Affairs; Finance; Defense; the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers; the Secretariat of the National Planning Commission; and the Offices of the Vice President and the President, according to the Secretariat.

On June 17, ministers will respond to questions raised during the ministry-wise discussions on the allocation headings of the same group of ministries discussed on June 15. Similarly, on June 18, the relevant ministers will respond to questions raised regarding the allocation headings discussed on June 16.

The government had presented the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2083/84 on Jestha 15. Earlier, the general discussion on the budget was completed in the House of Representatives, and Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has already responded.
