DTM mulling to increase fine for traffic violators

KATHMANDU: The Department of Transport Management (DTM) has proposed a fine of Rs 5,000 for all traffic violators.

The Department has proposed the rule in the draft of the Federal Vehicle and Transport Management Act.

The Department decided to increase the fine to minimize road accidents.

The traffic police has been imposing a fine up to Rs 2 thousand for drivers violating the traffic rules.
