SAPTARI: Two people died in an accident when a Scorpio jeep knocked down a motorcycle at Birendra Bazar of Saptari along the East-West Highway on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as motorcyclist Rakesh Kumar Yadav and pillion rider Prabhat Yadav of Rajgadh rural municipality-6.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Tilak Bharati, while Rakesh Kumar died on the spot, Prabhat died in course of treatment at the Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Hospital.

The jeep — Sa 1 cha 1381 — en route to west from the east hit the motorcycle — Sa 1 Pa 825 — coming from the opposite direction.
