KATHMANDU: The National Centre for Children at Risk rescued 20 street children from the Gaushala area on Wednesday.
It should be noted that the government had declared Pashupati, New Bus Park, Ratna Park, and Swoyambhu areas free from beggars recently.
The National Child Rights Council and the Centre and some other organizations have been rescuing children from the streets under the campaign of making the city free from street children, according to Council’s spokesperson Ram Bahadur Chand.
According to police inspector Mohan Bikram Dahal, some 20 Indian children begging around the Pashupatinath Temple have been taken under control.
They would be sent to the child reform home after interrogation, he informed.
