Army initiates action against 27 people in charge of irregularities



KATHMANDU: Nepal Army (NA) has initiated action against 27 people – four NA personnel and 23 civilians – for their alleged irregularities during the recruitment process.

The NA’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information said that army personnel has been kept under scrutiny and investigation has already been forwarded against him for his involvement in taking bribes for recruitment at the recruitment center at the Shree No 6 Battalion Office, Kailali.

Likewise, three fake examinees who took the exam at the recruitment center at North-West Division Headquarter allegedly forging papers have also been arrested.

Likewise, four fake exam candidates were nabbed from recruitment centers at Shree no 24 Brigade Office in Jumla and Shree No 6 Brigade Office in Kailali.

Search for the real examinees was underway and four non-military personnel were held from three recruitment centers.

Nepal Army is recruiting 5,800 army personnel for various posts through its 40 recruitment centers across the country as per its vacancy released on July 4, 2019.

The Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa has emphasized that the recruitment process be free, fair and competitive since he took the leadership of one of the oldest institutions in the country, Nepal Army.
