New code of conduct to journalists in Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Journalist Code of Conduct-2073 has been amended.

Acting chair of the Press council Kishor Shrestha and FNJ chair Govinda Acharya jointly made the amended version of the code of conduct public today.

According to council spokesperson Deepak Khanal, the code of conduct was amended and make public after holding talks with the concerned sectors aimed at making the media sector decent and responsible.

Acting chair Shrestha shared that it was necessary to amend the code of conduct to make it time compatible.

Similarly, FNJ general secretary Ramesh Bista shared that it was also an asset of the FNJ, as it has covered all sectors.

Meanwhile, delegates from Cyprus, Myanmar, Sri-Lanka, Afghanistan and India have arrived Kathmandu to attend the council’s golden jubilee celebration program.

The program is going to be held in the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas.
