Expo of Nepali handicraft in Kerung



KATHMANDU: An exhibition of Nepali traditional handicrafts is being held in Kerung, a town close to the Nepal-China border.

The exhibition, organized by the Federation of Handicrafts Associations of Nepal and supported by Kerung’s local government, aims at promoting Nepali handicrafts in China. Some 25 companies and farms have been taking part in the fair that will run until October 25.

Items such as Pashmina products, metal idols, Thanka, garments, textiles, and silver ornaments among others are put on the expo, according to Rhishiraj Subedi, deputy director of the Federation.

According to him, the chief objective of the event is to find a better market for Nepali handicrafts in China.
